Clothing

Working on clothing has given a new dimension to all of the designs I’ve previously generated. Most of my designs are two dimensional, so working on clothing really brings these images to life (more so than a simple sketch). Each item is hand painted, authentic, and a truly unique and one of a kind piece! The designs are mainly monochromatic and incorporate elements from ongoing creative projects, again, with the natural world being a large source of inspiration to each piece.

The process of creating these pieces involves the usage of sustainable ‘blank canvases’ (= pieces of clothing that are vintage, second-hand, or new and ordered upon commission, thereby reducing chances of waste). The clothing is washed, hand-painted, and then heat fixed, which ensures that designs remain on the garment permanently.

Autumn/Winter Release (2022)

Alongside the relaunch of the new AMCA.STUDIO website, a new body of work was created and added to the online store. These pieces explore the more recent ‘dreamscape’ style designs, which featured on leather jackets, reworked trousers, and t-shirts, in addition to the signature abstract face/fluid designs. It has been 2 years since the first Autumn/Winter Release and it’s fair to say, the quality and end results of these works have definitely evolved.

Autumn/Winter Release (2020)

Clothing orders tend to be done on a commission basis only. However, at the back end of 2020, AMCA.STUDIO launched it’s first ever clothing release, using sustainable materials only. The designs ranged between the signature ‘abstract face’ and ‘fluid’ designs, experimenting with different kinds of garments, fabrics, and colours.
